| Young Beavers' Squad Enjoyed Successful Season |
| Every high school hockey team in Ohio (except one) finds their season ended abruptly with a loss and bittersweet memories of what could have been. The Beavers’ season ended no differently than that of 76 other teams participating in District and State Tournament play; however, the players, managers, and coaches should look back on the 2004-2005 season with immense pride and personal satisfaction for "raising the bar" for future Creek Hockey Varsity teams. This year's Varsity squad set one new team record: Most Goals Scored (99). In addition, several individual Varsity records were set by members of this year's team: Most Points in a Season - Forward (Lee McClure - 64), Most Points in a Season – Defense (Mitchel Green – 19), Most Points in a Game - Defense (Mitchel Green - 3), Most Points by a Freshman - Forward (Lee McClure - 64), Most Goals in a Season - Forward (Lee McClure - 41), Most Assists in a Career - Forward (Judd Steele - 56), Most Assists in a Season - Forward (Judd Steele - 27), Most Assists in a Season – Defense (Mitchel Green – 17), Most Assists in a Game – Defense (Mitchel Green - 3), Plus/Minus for a Season (Lee McClure - plus 27), and Fastest Skater (Judd Steele). Also, two individual records were tied this year: Most Points in a Game – Forward (Lee McClure – 5) and Most Goals in a Game – Forward (Lee McClure – 5). This year’s team started the season young and inexperienced in Varsity hockey play; however, they made the most of their opportunities and ended the season significantly more experienced and wiser in what it takes to be a successful Varsity hockey program. The young men and women of the Beavercreek High School Varsity Ice Hockey team brought great credit to their school and their community. On behalf of all the fans that witnessed the play of this year's squad, thanks for the wonderful memories. |
